Targeted tumor therapy aims to kill tumor cells while preserving healthy tissue. Integrin αVβ3, which is overexpressed in tumor cells, is a potential target for selective treatment. This study reports on the use of nanoparticles modified with integrin αVβ3 for photothermal tumor therapy. Ti3C2 MXene, which has excellent photothermal properties and biocompatibility, was used as the nanoparticle material. The study found that MXene particles with a uniform distribution and nano-size showed improved photothermal characteristics. Integrin αVβ3 receptor was synthesized on the surface of MXene for specific tumor cell targeting. The study compared the viability of tumor and normal cells and found that the modified MXene nanoparticles targeted tumor cells and showed specific photothermal properties. This suggests that the approach may be applied to other tissues for tumor targeting through MXene surface modification.
