Direct optical lithography of photocurable perovskite composite for stretchable applications

Stretchable displays with a free-form factor and high durability have been increasingly in demand for next-generation displays. Metal halide perovskite (MHP) nanocrystals (NCs) have been widely known for their exceptional color purity, making them promising for high-resolution displays with wide color gamut. Although embedding MHP NCs in polymer is one of the most efficient methods to fabricate stable down-conversion layers, direct patterning of stretchable MHP composite has not been realized yet. Herein, we propose a direct method to fabricate stretchable MHP patterns with high stability using photocurable polymer. UV curable polymers were blended with colloidal MHPs to form patternable ink, which was then cast in mold and pressed down. The patternable composite ink show uniform particle distribution and high stability, with nearly no decrease in PL intensity over 1 hour. High-resolution stretchable patterns of ~30 μm line width successfully demonstrated on a flexible substrate.
