초록

내용
Infrared (IR) optical technology is widely used for an optical component of high performance in various fields where thermal sensitive property is required. Inorganic materials are most commonly used for IR optics. However, the several drawbacks of these materials make it difficult to wide range of applications. Thus, the need to for IR transmissive materials using polymer that are inexpensive and easy to process. To meet this demand, Pyun et al. developed the IR optical materials that use elemental sulfur, an industrial by-products. These high sulfur content polymers received a lot of attention worldwide due to their great optical properties. However, despite years of research, the IR transmittance of sulfur polymers is insignificant compared to conventional inorganic materials. Herein, inverse vulcanized polymers with significantly IR transmittance were synthesized and characterized. The synthesized sulfur polymers achieved high n and excellent IR transmittance at a high sulfur content.
