MOF (Metal-Organic Framework), a type of coordination polymer, is a structure formed by combining various metals and organic materials. It has a three-dimensional structure of micro/meso-sized pores and channels with various combined shapes and has a high specific surface area, so it can be used for gas separation and storage. In addition, research on utilization of various applications such as catalysts and sensors by combining organic ligands having functional groups is being actively conducted. Among them, studies on utilizing MOF itself in battery field have been conducted, Recently, studies on MOF-derived carbon(MDC), which exhibits excellent electrochemical properties, is also active. Here, I introduce the results of the development of Al-based MOF mass production that can be used in adsorption chillers and the supercapacitor applications using mass-productive MOF-derived carbon materials.
