The use of quinone-based hyperbranched polymers (QBPs) as cathode active materials for lithium-ion batteries has attracted great attention because of their reversible redox reactions, multi-electron transfer capabilities, and structure stability, In this study, an aryl amino compound (AT)-based QBP (AT-Q) was synthesized. In addition, a control hyperbranched polymer (AA-Q) was synthesized using arylamine and quinone via the Michael addition reaction. The chemical structures of the hyperbranched polymers were confirmed by solid-state 13C NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy. It is expected that the synthesized hyperbranched polymers will show efficient electrochemical activity and cycling stability, making them suitable for use as active materials for lithium-ion batteries.
