Recently, as the environmental pollution problem due to the excessive use of non-degradable plastics has increased, needs to apply biodegradable polymers in the field of the adhesives has emerged. In particular, as hot melt adhesives consist of non-degradable polymers, petroleum-based waxes, and tackifiers, research to replace components with biodegradable polymers have been attracting attention. In this study, a hot-melt adhesives was prepared using biodegradable polymer and bio-based tackifier. In order to control the viscosity of the biodegradable polymer, the molecular weight of the polymer was reduced by inducing bulk erosion through hydrolysis. After that, after confirming compatibility with the bio-based tackifier, adhesion with various adherends was confirmed. As a result, we have prepared a sustainable hot-melt adhesives through a simple method of hydrolysis and natural tackifiers.
