Non-closed package elastic photonic crystals can be used as visual sensors with immediate discoloration characteristics under mechanical deformation. However, the resonance wavelength mobility for the strain is limited in achieving high sensitivity due to the inherent limitation of the photonic crystal material. In this research, design a pattern with high sensitivity characteristics under mechanical deformation using an auxetic structure with a negative Poisson ratio. The feature of the hierarchical cutting pattern is that the auxetic surface can be expanded only by deformation in the cutting area without deformation of the skeleton constituting the pattern. Based on this, the skeleton of the pattern uses a polymer material with a high elastic modulus that can be rotated, and the cut region is composed of elastic photonic crystals with a relatively low elastic modulus to maximize the strain of the elastic photonic crystal region compared to the total strain of the pattern.
