Issues and Challenge of Eco-friendly Bio-based & Bio-degradable Adhesives

Due to excessive use of non-degradable or petroleum-based materials, the seriousness of environmental problems such as waste disposal and carbon dioxide emission has recently been considered to be the most important challenge. Accordingly, interest in sustainable materials has increased worldwide, and research on bio-based & bio-deagradable materials has been actively conducted in the field of adhesives. Research on bio-based adhesives are divided into oil-based, forest product-based, and agricultural product-based adhesives. Bio-degradable adhesives, especially hot melt adhesives, has also been steadily developed in the adhesive field. In this presentation, we will introduce eco-friendly bio-based & bio-deagradabl adhesives research and discuss environmental issues.
