Currently, the most commonly used lithium-ion battery electrolytes are LiFSI and LiPF6.
The electrolyte made by mixing LiFSI and LiPF6 is the most commercially available electrolyte, but the disadvantage of battery explosion and storage capacity still remains. In addition, the storage should be paid attention to and the manufacturing process is complicated, which has disadvantages in terms of price. As one of the electrolyte researches to resolve weaknesses in lithium-ion battery, the structure is designed which is similar to LiFSI and has carbonate, which is the organic solvent for most currently used, simultaneously. What can be expected from this research is that mass production can be performed at low cost, thermal stability at high temperature can be pursued, and the risk of explosion can be somewhat eliminated by lowering the amount of gas generated.
