Developing a high-performing hydrogel with long-lasting skin adhesion, mechanical stability is a crucial issue in the field of wearable devices. Zwitterion-based hydrogels have tough bonding to various surfaces, but their mechanical properties are not sufficient. To date, numerous efforts have been made toward increasing the toughness of zwitterion hydrogels by incorporating additives. However, the hydrogel prepared by the above-mentioned has structural heterogeneity. So, the hydrogel may make maintaining stable characteristics difficult. In this study, all polymeric hydrogel P(AMPS:VIPS-co-AAm) was prepared by photo-polymerization of zwitterionic monomer 3-(1-vinyl-3-imidazolio) propanesulfonate (VIPS), 2-acrylilamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid salt (AMPSs), acrylamide (AAm). we anticipated that the AMPSs/VIPS pair not only improved the interfacial adhesion through the ion–dipole or dipole–dipole interaction with skin surface, but also enhance the internal cohesion. Thus, the hydrogel demonstrates potential to be applied for wearable strain sensors.
