A highly flexible electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding nanocomposite film based on electrochemically exfoliated graphene (EEG) is prepared, and its structural, mechanical, and electrical properties are investigated in this study. EEG is obtained by applying a voltage to graphite foil in an ammonium sulfate electrolyte. A T-shaped conducting surfactant (TCS) is utilized to improve the dispersibility of EEG in the aqueous phase. Water-borne polyurethane (WPU) and cellulose nanofiber (CNF) are used as a polymeric matrix and a filler, respectively, to enhance mechanical properties, flexibility, and folding reliability. A series of EMI shielding nanocomposite films are prepared using a solution of EEG, TCS, WPU, and CNF. The resulting EMI shielding nanocomposite films exhibit superior flexibility, excellent mechanical properties, and outstanding EMI shielding performance. These results are attributed to the well-aligned layer-by-layer structure of EEGs due to the multiple interactions between EEG and CPS, WPU, and CNF.
