PAEK, one of the super engineering plastics, shows a great potential to replace metal owing to its excellent thermal and tribological properties. Because it is light in weight, PAEK is even better than metal. When processing PAEK, heated die technology is used. An Understanding of the crystallization behavior will have a good influence on industrial process control including heated die technology. Crystallization behavior is a sufficient need to study it. Friction and wear properties are important when PAEK is used as a component for transportation equipment. This is because when tribological property is good, the life of equipment is extended, which increase the efficiency of the industry. PAEK includes PEEK and PEKK which have different ether/keto ratio. As the ether/keto ratio changes, many properties chang. The effect of changing the ether/keto ratio on crystallization behavior and the friction coefficient and wear rate was studied. DSC is used for analysis of crystallinity. Wear test were carried out using a pin-on-disk wear test(ASTM G99), which analyzed tribological property.
