Materials used in battery separators are made of polymers such as PE or PP. Such Polymers have complex material behaviors. So, it is difficult to simulate and analyze the material behavior of polymers. In order to manufacture a separator, a stretching process is performed after the extrusion process. In this process, the separator is stretched and its thickness is reduced to several tens of micrometers. At this time, making the thickness of the separator sheet uniform after stretching is very important and key in terms of product quality. In this study, a simulation was conducted to predict the thickness and bowing phenomenon of the separator sheet after the stretching process. At this time, simulation data for uniaxial and biaxial tension was created based on the experimental data. And the main factors of stretching behavior were derived and analyzed from the simulation results.
