Study on the physical properties of TPU film containing nano-shielding particles

Low and medium level wastes account for 90% of the amount of radioactive waste generation. Currently, all radioactive waste is disposed of in a 200L drum container, so there is a management problem. Due to the cylindrical shape of the drum container, a lot of space is required for loading, and this affects the site selection process for landfilling and surface disposal. For this reason, it is necessary to develop a new container for the disposal of low level radioactive waste by classifying it by level. New containers require the development of new materials for soft bags that can efficiently dispose of various types and levels of radioactive waste. In this study, coating resins containing various shielding particles were applied to TPU films to confirm various mechanical properties. The physical properties and radiation shielding properties of the prepared TPU film.
