Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC)-based organoid platform is an attractive preclinical model because it can replace conventional cell lines and animal models as patient-specific and tissue-specific in vitro system. While iPSCs can be efficiently differentiated into the organoid-of-interest using well-established protocols, the batch-to-batch variability limits their use in drug development process. In my research lab, we integrate 3D bioprinting and cutting-edge bioengineering technologies to develop undifferentiated iPSC bioink and establish a high-throughput iPSC-based organoid platform that can be differentiated into various types of organoids. Utilizing this platform, we aim to standardize and scale up organoid production in order to promote its translation into industry.
