Controlling the fare volume fraction of the spherical structure is a challenge because of its large interface curvature. Miktoarm star copolymer is one of the efficient ways to form spherical structures with larger fares because its short chains maximize the interfacial curvature as they are spread out. Here, we synthesized polystyrene-[polystyrene-b-poly(2-vinylpyridine)3]3 miktoarm star copolymer [PS-(PS-b-P2VP3)3] by the combination of anionic polymerization, ATRP, and click reaction and investigated the nanostructures. Interestingly, when the PS volume fractions (fPS) were 0.40 and 0.47, Body-centered cubic (BCC) structures were formed, which far exceeded the volume fraction of the existing spherical structure. However, the cylindrical structure was observed when fPS is increased to 0.55. The experimentally obtained morphologies were consistent with predictions based on the self-consistent field theory (SCFT).
