We demonstrate a photomultiplication type organic photodetector (PM-OPD) with fast response speed by introducing CsPbI3 perovskite quantum dot (PQD) interlayer. Conventional PM-OPDs have slow response speed because PM is induced by trap-assisted charge carrier injection mechanism in the photoactive layer. However, we inserted a PM inducing interlayer on top of the donor and acceptor bulk heterojunction (BHJ), and the interlayer consisted of CsPbI3 PQD. So, it has novel device structure (ITO/ZnO/donor:acceptor BHJ/PQD/Ag), and the PM occurs due to I- ion migration of CsPbI3 PQD interlayer. Since these halide ions move rapidly, the response time of the device is short of 2.8 μs. In addition, the PM-OPD shows high external quantum efficiency (EQE) and specific detectivity even at a low bias voltage.
