The development of flexible electronic technology has led to convenient and useful products, such as foldable displays and wearable devices increasing the need for flexible adhesives that can quickly recover the shape while connecting the components of the device. Crosslinkers with urethane structures were synthesized using m-xylylene diisocyanate (XDI) and hydrogenated m-xylylene diisocyanate (H6XDI) as a hard segment and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) as a soft segment, and the pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA) were crosslinked with the crosslinkers. The synthesized H6XDI-PEG diacrylate (HPD) can impart high flexibility and a large polymer chain gap compared to the conventional crosslinker, the PSA crosslinked with HPD can be fully recovered by hindering the formation of hydrogen bonds. In addition, it also exhibits high adhesive strength and transmittance (>90%), overcoming the limitations of crosslinked polymers and providing excellent recovery properties for foldable displays.
