In this work, the copolymerization of 3,3'-Diamino-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diol (DHB), with two anhydrides, 3,4'-Biphthalic Anhydride (BPDA) and 4,4'-(Ethyne-1,2-diyl)diphthalic Anhydride (EBPA) was fabricated. This study provided information on the effect of EBPA on thermal stability. Three types of PIs were fabricated by adjusting the molar ratio of anhydride EBPA and BPDA. The PI films were confirmed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). And the PI films were carbonized at 1000 °C. The carbonized PI films were confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectrometer, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
