Muscles play an important role in metabolism and occupied a lot of body weight. Therefore, research is essential to solving muscle-related diseases. So, the goal is to create a muscle-mimicking model and use it for studying diseases. The C2C12 cells are differentiated into myotubes during culture in a specific condition. But, if cultured for a long time, myotubes are separated. In addition, it's difficult to mimic aligned shapes like a real muscle due to randomly cultured cells. PCL with magnetic particles was used to create fiber, which can be the scaffold for cells through electrospinning. Fiber is fragmented by the hydrolysis of NaOH. The fragments have magnetic properties, so can be aligned in the desired direction in the magnetic field. We encapsulate cells and fragments in a hydrogel. Cells can attach to fragments and grow in an aligned shape. It will differentiate into aligned myotubes. Because of the aligned myotubes, Protein expression can increase like the original model.
