Design and synthesis of n-type fused-ring non-fullerene acceptors for organic photodiodes

Recently, most high-performance donor-aceptor electron receptors have INCN-type terminals, which are vulnerable to photooxidation and base conditions due to exocytic double bonds. Therefore, a new molecular design for electron acceptors with high power conversion efficiency and stability is urgently needed. In this work, we report the design and synthesized a fused-ring electron acceptor. This new type of electron acceptor is expected to be used as a translucent solar cell or photodetection because it absorbs at long wavelengths.
