Shape-memory materials maintain their arbitrary shape and are restored to their original shape by external stimuli such as light, thermal, electrical, and magnetic. Shape-memory polyurethanes (SMPUs) consist of a fixed phase and a reversible phase, which was termed as the hard and soft segment. The used polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) was composed of a Si-O-Si cage structure with seven non-reactive phenyl groups and one organic functional glycidyl group. In this study, POSS-DDM was synthesized by the reaction of 4,4′-Methylenedianiline (DDM) and the glycidyl group of POSS. PU prepolymer was made by using poly(ethylene glycol) and diisocyanate. Theory, Organic-inorganic polyurethane was synthesized using PU prepolymer and POSS-DDM. The mechanical and thermal properties organic-inorganic polyurethane were analyzed by FT-IR, DSC, TGA and UTM.
