Design and Synthesis of Non-Fused Type Narrow Bandgap Non-Fullerene Acceptor for NIR Organic Photodetector

Narrow bandgap n-type organic semiconductors are key factor as important components for the manufacturing near-infrared organic photodetectors. To extend the absorption of n-type organic semiconductors into near-infrared range, intramolecular charge transfer based on electron push-pull effect between donor and acceptor unit is introduced into the molecular design. We design new non-fullerene acceptor by adding the end group in the A-D-A structure based on BCOT named BCOTIC-4Cl whose estimated optical bandgap is nearly 1 eV. Manipulation of intramolecular charge transfer characteristics was obtained by attaching end group IC-2Cl.
