As people's lifestyles changed fast and they consumed a huge amount of commodities, enormous municipal solids were thrown out into the surroundings. Among them, dumped plastics experienced fragmentation in the environment, bringing up the global concern of microplastics(MPs). Therefore, we proposed a strategy to treat microplastic in a simple and universal way. We integrated MPs with a packaging-type triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG) to utilize MP as an energy resource. And we optimized the output of the device by analyzing structural parameters. The proposed system could generate energy from mechanical motion from PP, PET, PS, and mixed microplastics through the triboelectric properties of MPs. We confirmed that TENG output was not affected by the aging of MPs. Lastly, it was verified that the TENG could be applied as a power source. The proposed TENG provides a sustainable solution to manage microplastics.
