Humic substances are omnipresent natural organic materials, which have a significant impact on the pedosphere and hydrosphere. In this study, cationic modified Regenerated Cellulose (RC) was prepared for Humic Acid (HA) removal. RC was prepared using Lithium Bromide (LiBr) and crosslinked with polyethyleneimine (PEI) and Di-epoxide to form RC/PEI hydrogel. The hydrogel is expected to effectively adsorb HA due to the abundant amino groups of PEI and the three-dimensional (3D) network structure formed by chemical crosslinking between RC and PEI. The HA removal performance of the RC/PEI hydrogel was analyzed through adsorption isotherms, kinetics and thermodynamics.
