Intravascular embolization is a non-surgical treatment that blocks blood vessels existing in the necrosis myoma. The short procedure time and low side effects are advantageous. Also, embolism is highly efficient as it can contain therapeutic drugs inside which can be used in cancer treatment. Although injectability, uniformity, radiopacity, biodegradability are required, there are no conventional embolic materials that satisfy these properties so far. In this work, we prepared biodegradable and radiopaque W/O/W PLGA microparticles which overcome existing limitations by microfluidic devices that are appropriate for large-scale-monodisperse particles. By using the devices, hollow PLGA microparticle has low size distribution which is controllable by changing the flow rate, concentration of PLGA and PVA solution.
