Reprocessable crosslinked polymers based on dynamic covalent bonds, known as vitrimer, have received great attentions in recent years due to their unique features combining superior thermomechanical properties of thermosets with reprocessability of thermoplastics. In this work, a thermally reprocessable crosslinked polyolefin elastomer was prepared by crosslinking maleated polyethylene-octene elastomer (mPOE) by using a octaglycidyl POSS, a nanoparticle having glycidyl attached to each Si atom of the cage, as a crosslinker in the presence of a small amount of suitable transesterification catalyst via a melt mixing method. Structure and thermomechanical properties of the crosslinked POE were characterized by FTIR analysis, solubility test, DSC and DMA. Reprocessability of the POE vitrimer originated from transesterification reaction was evaluated by stress-relaxtion test and tensile testing of compression molded samples.
