Hydrogel fiber with conductive ability and mechanosensory functionality are highly desired because of rapid growth in compactness and adaptivity requirements of electronics. Most of the already fabricated fiber-sensors are based on percolation network of conducting fillers, which are rigid, opaque. Previously highly elastic and flexible soft hydrogel optical fiber were fabricated furthermore in this work we immersed the hydrogel optical fiber in ionic liquid, owning to the conductive properties of ionic liquid, conductive hydrogel optical fibers were fabricated. Conductive hydrogel optical fiber is a promising candidate because of its tunable mechanical properties, high light transmission, and ionic conductivity.
