<em>C. elegans</em>-on-a-chip: 외부자극에 대한 예쁜꼬마선충 반응분석을 위한 미세유체플랫폼

Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) is an outstanding model animal with many advantages such as a short life and generation cycle, small size, and transparent body. Moreover, C. elegans shows interesting responses to external stimuli with a well-differentiated nervous system. The most valuable characteristic of C. elegans is that it has human gene counterparts up to 60%. So, we can perform research that will benefit human beings by studying the genome of this model animal. In this talk, we introduce microfluidic platforms for the behavioral analysis of C. elegans. We studied the behavioral responses of C. elegans to chemical (NaCl gradient) and physical cues (Temperature gradient, Electric field, and Magnetic field) with the developed microfluidic platforms (so called, C. elegans – on – a – chip).
