Textile composites are one of the best lightweight structural material due to the excellent mechanical properties with low density. Fabrication processes for the textile composite are required to have short cycle time, cost effectiveness, as well as ability to implement various shaped products. Recently, functional textile composites with the additional functions such as electrical and thermal conductivities have been actively studied to enlarge the application area of the composites. Liquid composite molding has been developed to satisfy the requirements for process. However, there are still difficulties in the process, i.e., to remove unfilled area in complex shaped products and to distribute the functional particles through the fiber preform. In this talk, a whole new composite fabrication process is presented to dramatically improve the impregnability of the complex geometry and to grant electrical conductivity on the surface of textile composites by distributing nanoparticles.
