Wrinkled photonic crystal papers (PCPs) are newly fabricated to demonstrate the consistent reflection of colors regardless of viewing angles. A reactive cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) mixture was shear-coated on the wrinkled interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) rubber substrate and stabilized by photopolymerization. The facile method of fabricating the wrinkled PCPs provides a scalable route for the development of novel chirophotonic materials with precisely controlled helical pitch and curvature dimensions. Polarized optical microscope (POM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observations confirmed the formation of micrometer-scale wrinkles and helical. The reflection wavelength of the wrinkled PCP remained constant even when the viewing angle was increased. 1D stripe and 2D wavy wrinkled PCP can be used to fabricate anti-counterfeiting film and monochromatic light reflectors.
