Recently, a solid polymer electrolyte based on ionic liquids (ILs), ionogel, has attracted attention as an ideal candidate material for wearable and stretchable electronics. The ionogel is a composite composed of an IL and a polymer binder assembled with physical or chemical crosslinking, exhibiting decent mechanical strength while retaining the excellent electrical properties, thermal and electrochemical stability. For further applications, the ionogel needs to exhibit stretchability, self-healability, and adhesion property. To address these challenges simultaneously, we designed a block copolymer (BCP) by introducing the motif that can form multiple hydrogen bonds. The BCP was also designed as an associating polymer so that the formed colloids can interact with each other to form associative network in the presence of IL. We varied the composition and molecular weight of the BCP to understand its structure-property relationships. Furthermore, the self-healing capability and adhesion properties were investigated to examine its applicability towards electronic materials and devices.
