Biodegradable polymer is one of the most promising polymeric materials to reduce environmental pollution and plastic waste. Due to their sustainability and environmental friendliness, biodegradable polymers can be used in various applications, including packaging, catering items, electronics, textiles, agricultural applications, and biomedical applications. Specifically, PLA has gained interest for application in packaging materials due to its low cost, stiffness, transparency, processability, and biocompatibility. For that reason, it has widened its usage compared with other biodegradable polymers such as PHAs, polyethylene glycol, and poly(caprolactone). This presentation provides an overview of biodegradable polymers and introduces our research on how additives can enhance the qualities of biodegradable blends. Additionally, the research demonstrates how packing materials can be applied in large-scale procedures.
