Organic electronics are at the forefront of a wide range of applications due to their solution processability. However, integrating polymer films into optoelectronic devices without compromising their optoelectronic properties remains challenging. Here we designed and synthesized dual-functional azide-cum-diarylethene (AZ-DAE) comprising photocrosslinkable azide and photoswitchable diarylethene derivatives. High-mobility DPPDTT is blended with various AZ-DAE derivatives as a matrix polymer. We show that presence of longer alkyl chain between azide and diarylethene in AZ-DAE molecule can lead to an ideal photopatternable and high-performance photoprogrammable polymer transistor. We demonstrate a new way to develop photopatternable light-controlled polymer transistor in a cost-effective and non-destructive manner that can be implemented in various kind of organic electronics.
