The need for artificial muscles is increasingly demanded by the aging of the human population and continued exposure to extreme environments. However, existing artificial muscles could not be used practically due to various limitations such as bulky or heavy additional equipments and slow contraction and relaxation rate. In this research, human muscle like single fiber actuator which is based on exfoliated graphene and liquid crystal elasomer with uniaxially oriented molecular alignment enables faster than 1 second photothermal actuation with large work capacity and power density. Moreover, remote control and reversible percolation of conductive filler, graphene, can be possible and monitored via infrared light. Also, without any glue, single fiber can be bundled into 10, 100 and 1000 strands which can be used in various fields such as medical, military and human life.
