The bismaleimide (BMI) resin is known as a high-performance thermoset with high chemical resistance and thermal stability. In this work, we tried to design and synthesize a new BMI monomer that is facile to be synthesized and possesses a highly oriented structure. The monomer structure confirmation was conducted based on nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, furthermore, its thermal properties and phase transition behavior were determined using different scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The BMI monomer then was cured with diamines to obtain final BMI resins. The curing reaction was investigated based on isothermal DSC measurement, then the curing condition, therefore, was determined. Finally, the final BMI resin products were successfully prepared and well-shaped. In the presentation, the details of the properties will be presented and discussed.
