Recently, the automobile industry has been increasingly demanding lightening of automobiles to strengthen environmental regulations and reduce fuel efficiency, and the need to develop highly functional materials is increasing.
The automotive lightweight method has the highest effect of reducing the weight of the material, and the headlining is suitable for research on reducing the weight of the material.
The conventional mass production headlining layer structure has a complex structure that includes G/MAT materials that occupy a heavy weight in PU foam but is being applied to maintain its shape.
This research devised a product that satisfies cost reduction and lightness by replacing the existing polyurethane foam applied to the headlining with a PU/GF complex foam, and the physical properties compared to G/MAT materials could be satisfied to an equivalent level or higher. To this end, performance was confirmed through FE-SEM, density, shrinkage rate, porosity, flexural strength, and foaming analysis.
