Anti-aging potential of colostrum exosome as cosmetic ingredients

Exosomes are used for diagnosis of diseases, or exosomes from specific cells are used for regenerative and anti-inflammatory therapy. We used ultra-centrifugation method to extract exosomes from colostrum in high yield. In particular, colostrum exosomes (Col M-exo) are known to improve immunity and cell proliferation because they contain various nutrients and proteins. In this study, we attempt to confirm the potential as a cosmetic ingredient by utilizing the strength of colostrum. In vitro, colostrum exosomes have shown antioxidant effects in keratinocytes. In addition, colostrum exosomes showed a whitening effect by reducing melanin synthesis in melanocytes, and improved skin elasticity by increasing type l collagen in fibroblasts. Colostrum exosomes have high stability in freeze-drying and freezing storage. As a result, colostrum exosomes are advantageous as raw materials for anti-aging cosmetics because they have positive effects on skin cells and stability for storage.
