The concept of the circular economy revolves around reducing waste and emissions. One area in which the circular economy can have a significant impact is in reducing plastic waste and mitigating carbon emissions. By using paper and wood to create durable materials, we can not only isolate carbon, but also reduce the amount of plastic waste generated. For example, paper and wood-based products, such as biodegradable packaging and wooden products, can replace single-use plastic items, such as bags, water bottles and food packaging. These materials are not only renewable, but they also have a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional plastics. Moreover, recycling paper and wood products also play a crucial role in the circular economy by closing the loop and conserving resources. The recycling of paper and wood products can reduce the need for virgin materials and prevent waste from ending up in landfills,. We show here nanocellulose-based products, as nanopaper.
