Organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) have been widely applied as core displays for smartphones, smart watches, large-area television sets, etc. Recently, the application of OLED displays reaches a cockpit in vehicles, while transparent and/or curved OLED displays are within reach and can be employed for advanced systems such as humanoid robots and autonomous cars, etc. Very recently, it has been demonstrated that large-size OLED displays can be fabricated via wet-coating processes (inkjet printing). However, key organic materials for wet-coating processes are still required to be improved and should be further developed in terms of performance and processability. Of various organic layers in normal-type OLEDs, the hole injection layers are known to be a base affecting the whole characteristics of resulting devices. This presentation suggests the possibility of using Lewis acid-doped conjugated polymers for hole injection layers toward solution-processable OLEDs
