An environmental-friendly method for the preparation of porous carbon monoliths with an excellent electrochemical performance was demonstrated in this study. Porous carbon monoliths were prepared by the carbonization of ice-templated water-soluble polymer/CNT monoliths. The prepared porous carbon monoliths were characterized in terms of their chemical structures and compositions, crystallinity, morphology, surface area, pore structures, and electrochemical performance.
