Electrochemical Characterization of 2D Siloxene-based electrode for Next-Generation Energy Storage Systems

Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are the current-state-of-the-art electrochemical energy storage technology for most portable electronic devices. However, there are only few rooms left for further improvement of LIBs due to insufficient supply and high price of lithium resource. In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, we are attention mainly on 1) sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) and 2) lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs), which are considered the most promising next-generation energy storage systems. Herein, we proposed active materials based on siloxene as anode and cathode for SIBs and LSBs, respectively where novel strategie reactive extraction synthesis was introduced to drive their two-dimensional (2D) structures. Being utilized as electrode materials, it was able to improve the performance of SIBs and LSBs owing to its unique layered structure and hydroxyl-rich surface.
