Synthesis and Characterization of Binder Polymers with Polar Functional Groups for Dispersion of Colorants

In this study, new binder polymers having polar functional groups were synthesized to improve the dispersion of colorants. In addition, monomers containing acid-labile protecting groups were used to precisely control the acidity of binder polymers. After polymerization, the protecting groups were removed by acid treatment. The synthesized binder polymers exhibited high optical transparency, high thermal stability, and good dispersion of colorants.
