An efficient route to ternary nanohybrids comprised of graphene, molybdenum disulfide and polyaniline

Graphene, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), and polyaniline (PANI) were assembled into hierarchical ternary nanohybrids via a simple physical exfoliation process. In that process, PANI penetrated into the stacked interlayers of bulk MoS2 and graphite without any additional chemical treatments in a liquid phase. Interestingly, graphene and PANI facilitated the conversion of a semiconducting trigonal prismatic phase of MoS2 to a metallic octahedral phase, thereby enhancing the electrical conductivity of the nanohybrid. The optimal composition of the nanohybrids was determined to achieve their best electrochemical properties and finally, they were tested as electrode materials for flexible all-solid-state capacitor cells.
